I did it!

This morning I ran a 5K (3.1 miles) in downtown Louisville. It was really cold and quite windy outside, but it ended up being a fun race. The tall building helped to block some of the wind. I ran it a few minutes under my goal, which was great, but really paid for it the last mile. I have learned that I need to pace myself better. I am planning on running the 10K in two weeks. We'll see how it goes! Oh, and I love my I-pod! "Pump It" by Black Eyed Peas is the greatest. it pulled me through!

Congratulations Julie! What a fun experience to always remember. (Not the "running out of steam" there at the end), but the setting there in Louisville and all. You are to be congratulated for the preparation and determination to stick with it. Only in my nightmares have I experienced running in a race and all of a sudden feeling, "I AM NOT GOING TO MAKE IT!!!" What a panic feeling! But you 'Did It', and found the willpower and energy to continue and finish! Somehow I have a feeling that the rest of my family have all felt that experience in an athletic situation; and I am equally as certain that none of you are surprised that it would only be in a "nightmare" for me! Oh well.
Love you all! Mom
