Ukrainian Memories

So it has just been incredibly cold this last week! On Sunday the high was 6 degrees (-20 with windchill) - the HIGH for crying out loud! Lucky for us, that was also the day our car decided not to start. We were victims of a weak battery, which I changed the next day, and I think I'm starting to regain the feeling in my fingers. I can't help but be taken back the frozen tundra of Ukraine where I learned what cold really is. Such fond memories - Frozen ink in my pen, Sleeping in my winter coat and hat, and Frozen nostril hairs! It's been really nice to relive all of that. Hope you all are enjoying winter as much as us. Jack is certainly finding ways to handle the cold. Love you all!

THAT is cold!! The feel of -20 is unimaginable to me. Lucky for you that you could draw on your experiences in the missionfield. I've heard it told that all of you RM's love to relive your experiences of serving as a missionary. Aren't you excited that for the rest of your life, you will be blessed to be placed in situations to bring back those memories?!? Thanks so much for the adorable pics of Jack! (or let's see, are they really of Ryan, 27 years ago?) Seeing them leaves us with a full heart...but empty arms. Hope the Arctic Blast will soon leave you! Love, Mom

Ry, I have been such a whimp about the cold here lately. It has been pretty bad here, but not as bad as yours! Yuck! That is miserable. I am definately ready for spring to come (although Sophie informs me that the groundhog saw his shadow this year-bummer).

Way cute pics of Jack. I love the BYU hat!
